Grow Your Blog Party post

2 Bags Full
Hello!

Today I am joining the Grow Your Blog party hosted by Vicki at 2 Bags Full.   The idea is to get to know other bloggers and, of course, that's one of the main reasons we do this, so I'm super excited to be able to join in!

Welcome to SMC by Design!  I'm Shannon.  My initials are SMC and 'by Design' is a play on the crafting and art I like to do but also my life.  It's sort of like, My Life by Design.

I feel like my blog is still trying to find its way a little bit but I'd like to think of it as a lifestyle blog with a heavy dose of crafting thrown in.  I'm working on it!  The weird part is, I consider myself a hobby blogger with tons to learn, but I work for a blogging network.  I am the only person on my team who wasn't a professional blogger when I was hired.  Go figure.

I started this blog for a couple of reasons. One was to create community and I've met some terrific bloggers along the way so far.  One who deserves a shout out is Debbie of Debbiedoos who hosts the  Newbie link party every week.  She is the first person who found out I had a blog so she invited me to join her link party. It took a while before I had enough courage but I finally did it!  Since then, I've joined as often as I can, discovered really fun blogs, and learned a lot. If you consider yourself a newbie, go on over and check it out!

I have lived in southwest Idaho for many years.  It's a great place to experience four seasons, great outdoor activities, and beautiful scenery.
My husband and I will celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary this year by visiting Ireland and the U.K. in August. VERY excited! I remember thinking only old people celebrated 25 years of marriage. Well, I'm not old, so that's out the window!   Hahaaa!
We have two kids in college--one of them lives in town but not with us, so we are empty nesters! That was an adjustment but it's a really fun season of life.

I love paper crafting as you will see in some of my posts and you can see a range of different kinds of projects I've shared on my Projects page.I'm working on opening my Etsy store that will have paper crafted art and party supplies.
Here's more about me, if you're interested.  Definitely feel free to follow me on Pinterest (loves me some Pinterest!), Twitter, or Google+ and leave your link so I can visit you too! Thanks so much for stopping by! I look forward to getting to know you better. :)

p.s.  Unfortunately, I am currently a no-reply blogger with no apparent way to change it.  I've adjusted my Blogger profile more than six times in order to fix it, but to no avail.  If you have a solution, I'm all ears! :) Have a terrific day!
