Life Lately

How is Life Lately for you? Good, I hope! Me? Well, we have this lovely (not) thing here in the winter called an Inversion. It makes for some lovely frost in the mornings but it blocks the sun and creates poor air quality and I needs me some air and some sunshine!

Besides that, things are good. I used to call these posts various different things but I'm going with Life Lately this time.

We went bowling.  It was the first time I'd been bowling in four years.  Four years!  Things had changed considerably in the bowling world in that time.  There is a new bowling alley in town and look at this--I don't think there was a plain black ball in the entire place!

They look like giant gumballs.  Do you know what, besides, cool bowling balls, a new bowling alley has? New bowling shoes!  There wasn't any stinky going on yet. :)

Leif is building a bookcase for me because I could use more storage for my craft supplies.  I really struggle with that.  Shouldn't I just toss the stuff?  My family says, No, this is what you're about!
And so I go with it, but Leif does tend to go big or not go, so when the cart thingy started getting fuller and fuller, I started to worry. What was he planning?

He knows what he's doing and he's good to me like that, so I went with it and this girl is going to be organized!

My kids got older--20 and 23 two days apart last week.  I don't even know what to say about that, really.  I made  a cake topper for each of them.  I had to send B's to her and I know it was too big to put onto a cake, but it was fun.  Z's was too frilly, for sure.  I was going for 'Festive' with the most masculine colors and print I had and failed miserably on the masculine part.  He was more concerned that he got his spice cake and didn't particularly care what was on it.

B gave me a cute mushroom ornament for Christmas because I really dig mushrooms.  I decided not to pack it away because it makes me smile.  It's sitting beside my computer right now.

And, it's cold.  I mean, it IS January, but my goodness. Now, I know it's colder--much colder in other places, but it's all relative, isn't it?

Like I said, it does make for lovely frost in the mornings.

But I think these guys--whatever they are--are the only things I've seen lately that look warm.

And finally, Life Lately gave me a clean bill of health, mostly.  This photo collage is outside my doctor's office.  It's a wonderful collage full of bright images celebrating women and girls in various stages of life.  It's nice, no question.  But you know what?  I'm tired f it.  I've been past that thing so many times in the last year+ that I almost quit looking at it.  But today, I was happy to be leaving with no appointment set in the near future which made me notice again how cute it is (attitude is everything) and I took a picture, glad I didn't have to see it again for a while. Yay!
